SUSE9.1 vs. usb2.0hdd (ntfs)

hi leute, hab hier grad ein linux installiert, soweit klappt eigentlich alles soweit ichs bisher einschätzen kann...
nur wenn ich meine externe festplatte einschalte kommt: Ordner /media/usb-storage-38E006CF19AD:0:0:0p1 lässt sich nicht öffnen
liegt das daran das es eine ntfs platte ist?
soweit ich gelesen hab kann linux zwar nicht auf ntfs schreiben, aber lesen kann es selbiges schon
linux ist SUSE9.1 (bitte keine "tips" ala hau suse weg und nimm was anderes, das hilft wirklich nicht weiter....)
und bitte, falls jemand was weiß so simpel wie möglich beschreiben

Normalerweise sollte auch schreiben mittlerweile problemlos funktionieren.

Schau mal bitte nach was ein "dmesg" beim Einstecken deine Festplatte sagt.

Mit captive gehts wohl schon etwas länger. Afaik gehts ejtzt aber auch über das normale Kernelmodul (bei neueren Kernels halt).
Auch gibts noch Paragon.

sorry die frage, aber was ist dmeg?
ich beschäftige mich heut zum ersten mal "richtig" mit linux, nimms mir ned überl falls ich alzublöde fragen stell :-/

Hi

Du machst eine RootKonsole (wenn du in einer normalen Benutzerkonsole bist einfach mit "su" rüberwechseln) auf und dann einfach "dmesg" + <enter>

irgendwie hab ich keinen unterschied zwischen den beiden malen finden können, hiermal der teil wo ich mir vorstellen könnte das du den meinst:

Io,

deine Festplatte wird wohl sweit richtig erkannt. Problem ist der Automounter den du wahrscheinlich hast. Du siehst, wie er 4x versucht die Festplatte zu mounten.

Da ich keinerlei Erfahrung habe, welche Zugriffsmethode die Beste ist, und welche Suse verwendet muss ich an dieser Stelle passen.

Ich bin sicher die anderen LinuxKenner können dir hier weiterhefen. Wenn nicht, einfach mal bei linuxforen.de suchen/fragen.

ok, danke schonmal soweit
