I'm trying to read the manual for multiswitch, but my German isn't good enough
I want to manually adjust fanspeed on some 12v fans (waiting for aquaero) and I noticed that you can set the output power on the 8 12v outputs in 26 steps - nice for fanspeed I thought...
I only have a katode on the multiswitch so far, so I have no experience with using anything but on/off.
There is a warning in the manual regarding motors that I don't understand. Could someone fill me in?
Are these outputs not suited for fans? Do they actually adjust the voltage or something else?
Sorry again for the lack of German...
Thanks
If you connect inductive resistors like for example a motor, a Schottky-diode and a 100nF Condensator need to be used at the resistor to not interfere with the Multiswitch-functionality or other devices attached to the PSU.
In some cases other interference-suppression (??? - not sure there, it means to even out spikes from the current) can be necessary.
I'm a software engineer so please excuse my ignorance, but does this mean that I need to add a Schottky-diode++ if I want to use it for controlling a fan? On every output I have fans.. And lastly - where do you get them (I'm guessing I can't just walk down to 7-Eleven and ask for a standard Schottky...).
