Hmm.. To be honest.. It could affect your flow.
I increased the hole in the Intake-Side of the digmesa-flowmeter with a 6mm akku-drill. After that i reversed my flowmeter to have a accurate size (5,6 mm) that is on the out-take as the new intake.
It increased my flow from about 32 l/h to around 40 l/h with a eheim 1046. (Gaged with water before and after!)
The impulses per liter are 509 with 3,3 mm intake (digmesa-sheets) and afaik 279 with a 5,6 mm intake (Inreased and reversed). Based on the Digmesa-Flowmeter sold in the AC-Shop!
But it is more like a "esoteric"-question
, if reboring and reversing the flowmeter increases the water-flow.
Try and decide yourself. The only thing you lose is the warranty of your flowmeter. If you don't have all thumbs, theres nothing you can destroy. Maybe it works and maybe not.
Nevertheless..
Increasing the Aquastream-Speed has a much more bigger affect on your System-Flow coupled with a mostly silenced AS.

Thanks a lot, this helped.
I looked around at the http://www.digmesa.com/ (difficult site to navigate in, and impossible to link to) and found the curves. And it might help the flow if I increase the ID of the intake to 6mm, and reverse the flow (to get exactly 5,6 mm on the "new" intake).
I also found that the correct imp/l for the turbine (FT 36 # 527-0303) is 256 imp/l with a intake of 5,6 mm! (although I found this on a similar flow sensor - but all other imp/l and ID mm was identical) ;D
This would then give you 44l/hour in your system (with 256 imp/l not 279)? Or about a 38% increase in flow... I would say is worth a go ...
EDIT: I will come back with my results when it is all done ...

Well it didn't help much ...
Actually it measures a slightly lower flow, but I am not convinced about the 256 imp/l setting, as I am not convinced that my "out" end is exactly 5,6 mm (in this area of the ID versus imp/l curve, there is huge variations per mm).
So I guess I have to calibrate the settings myself, this will be done when I will refit my system over the weekend ...
EDIT: This of course, has also something to do with the media itself to do. The 256 imp/l is for pure water. At the moment I am using some ready made media from Thermaltake, which I don't know the the viscosity of. I will replace this with water + ACfluid when I refit the system.

Yes, you're right. You need to set 256 Imp/l with 5,6 mm "Intake". Not 276! I checked it with the Digmesa-Sheets.
I just wondered, this 256 imp/l is for a intake AND outlet of both 5,6mm. But with a new outlet of 6 mm, this should make some difference. Has anybody done calibrations for this ( I am going to do so if I must)?
