About airplex modularity system 420mm

Mittwoch, 4. August 2021, 15:03

Hello everyone
I am new here
I am waiting for my AMS
My model is 420mm copper fin
There are some discussions that it consumes 100w power per 120mm
What does that mean
thank you all :)

i guess they talk about heat dissipation.
rule of thumb when making your loop, you get 100w per 120mm fan, 300W for a 360mm rad, etc..

Thanks for reply
What does 300w for 360 rad mean?
Is it to calculate deltaT? ?(

for example, if you get a RTX 3080, with a TDP of 320W, you can assume a 360 rad will be enough to cool it. add a 100W CPU to the loop you'd need at least one more 120mm rad.
It's a rule of thumb, and that's like the maximum heat you can dissipate through those rads, with fairly hot water.
It's just a sizing help really.

Thanks for your explanation
I can probably understand the analogy you made
So every 100w/120mm rad is an approximate value
Actually it depends on the temperature performance
is this correct? :)

performance depends on your case airflow, your fans, the ambient temp, how good the waterblocks are, thermal paste, water flow..
there's so many variables you can't just calculate efficiency based on radiator length ^^'

at 100W/120mm, one thing you can be sure of though is that your computer will make some noise :)
it's better to keep a comfortable headroom to be able to run the fans not too fast if you care about silence.

If you want to know if your AMS 420 is sufficient for your system you should write which CPU/GPU you want to cool. ;)

Thanks for reply
It should be cool enough for now
I am 10940x and 2080Ti
I'm not afraid that it's not cold enough
AMS can be expanded if needed
I just want to know the relationship between wattage and cold exhaust that everyone is discussing
You guys gave me good answers
thanks :)
