Aquasuite2012 and PowerAdjust2

Wednesday, May 25th 2011, 11:04pm

Hi,
Im not quite sure, wether im supposed to see my three poweradjust 2s (firmware 1003) in AS2012 or not. Tried to make sense out of a thread in the German sector, but it has been to long since school, and my understanding of the German language is "schlecht" ...
Anyway, have I understood it correct that for me to see my poweradjusts in AS2012, they:
  1. Firmware must be updated to 1003
  2. Jumper for Aquabus must be "on" (on the PA2s)
  3. Each PA2 must have an unique aquabus address between 50 and 56
  4. PA2 must be connected to A5 through high speed aquabus only (daisy chain is ok)
  5. no usb connection to PA2

In addition to that you must only flash each PA2 individually via usb one at a time with no aquabus cables connected.
Once done remove the USB cable and reattach the aquabus.

Did you manage to get this to work? My firmware is updated to 1003 and I used the 3 pin cable that comes with aquaero. Connected via aquabus 2 on both devices and still not seeing PA2 in Aquasuite 2012.. Where is the jumper on the PA2 and how do you set the address?

When the PA2 is connected to USB, scan for usb device and then you have to set the ID in one of the software tabs in the original aquasuite software. I cant remember which one but i think its the 2nd or 3rd tab. Look for an ID of 50 in one of the tabs. The 1st PA2 you can leave at 50, every additional PA2 just increment the ID by 1. Remember to also apply the setting to the device to write the id into it. Remember to only do 1 at a time and disconnect aquabus until all units are completed. There is no jumper i think he is referring to the pairs of aquabus ports as jumpers. (you jumper from one PA2 to the next using the 2 3pin ports and the aquabus cable)

Still no success for me. I can not see any PA2s in Aquasuite, either in beta 1 or beta 2 (which I actually got working).
Any screenshot of what to look for?

I was so p... of not seeing my PA2 that i gave it a fresh start. Uninstalled beta 1, restart os, installed beta 2.
In the meantime, I had removed all usb connection to all Ac equipment except a5, and also Windows update had a update for net4.
But after hooking all up with aquabus, the a5 restarts every few minutes. :(
But, any screenshots ...

You wont see a pa2 you will just see extra fan channels.

If the A5 keeps rebooting you have a conflct on the aquabus. You need to set each PA2 to an individual id from 50 to 56 as per my instructions above.
Probably also a good idea to rest the A5 to factory defaults in the menu of the device as well.

I have done so 51, 52 and 53 (firmware 1003) , but a conflich would explain me not seeing any PA2 ...
Maybe I should disconnect the multiswitch ...

multiswitch -> low speed aquabus

That I know, I have my tubemeter and multiswich (y- cable) on the low speed (1)
and my three daisy chained PA2s on the high speed (2)

Try just a single PA2 if possible and remove the tubemeter and multiswitch.
and if it works with one then add things back in until you discover whats causing the issue.

I have a couple of tube meters too but they are not installed yet. I seem to remember something about addresses for these too though I cant be certain as I havent tried them yet.

Make doubly sure you have connected the aquameter up correctly using the correct cable for the link to the Aquareo. The Aquaero cable connection, the number1 pin on the tubemeter (raised pcb one) has no wires out of it and the 2 black wires are connected to the number2 pin and the red ones therefore are connected to the number5 pin. The Aquaero cable connection that connects to the tubemeter has only 4 wires, some direct USB wire connections have 5 wires, so basically make sure that your red wire is connected to the number5 pin and then that should be correct.

Finally, I see all three PA2s. But as fans. Not excatly what I had expected ...
I'm not quite sure yet, but It seem like the tubemeter has died in the process. I cannot make it work anymore ... hopefully is is only a firmware to the A5 ... but I fear the worst ...
This I find strange, since it worket with A4, it also worked with A5 for a while, and I have not changed or removed the connections in the process.

Thanks for the warning, although I am well aware of this, having three tube-meters. This one, I have not changed the connections too during this process. And about the connection to the tubemeter, I do not like it, it is is a disaster waiting to happend ...

My advice would be to turn up your volume on the computer sound .Plug the tube meter in with correct pin 1 orientation via usb taking care to get same pin out on computer MbordListen to se if your computer detects a device being plugged in .Same as unplugging a usb memory stick .This may indicate whether it is a firmware or a hardware problem you face.
