Aquasuite fails to load with "Visual C++ 2010 redistributable package not found"

Thursday, May 22nd 2014, 1:39am

I've installed/reinstalled Aquasuite 2014 over and over with no success. I've also reinstalled the Visual C++ package.

Running Windows 8.1 64 bit.

Thanks!

Well so much for getting any support from AC here. Not surprising I guess. This is where you find out if people stand behind their products or not.

I am having the same issue.

.NET framework 4.5 is installed. Trying to install from the link you gave says I have a newer version installed.
Visual C++ redistributable package is installed (both x86/x64).

I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit, have an Aquaero 6 Pro connected.

I've reinstalled aquasuite & visual c++ many times to no effect. I've restarted my computer.

Please help.

Edit: After installing some games from Steam (specifically assasins creed 4) which also needed the c++ redistrbutable, steam installed it again, and after that aquasuite is running fine. Weird solution, but whatever works.

When the aquasuite is not running with this installed packages something is wrong with your windows installation.
I can confirm what Pocalypse has experienced.

I just built a new PC with Win8.1 and received the same error "Visual C++ 2010 redistributable package not found"

After ensuring that Visual C++ 2010 was installed (both 64 and 32 bit versions) I tried installing .NET v4 however Win8.1 will not allow you to install the redistributable package as it has already installed a higher version and it prevents you from loading v4 Redist.

Note that my build is quite sparse in that only Win8.1 and drivers etc have been installed - not much other software.

I think Aquasuite suite is looking for some other/extra files it thinks should be part of the visual C++ redist package but are not there which is preventing it from running.

Just an update on the issue as I have just resolved the problem in the last few minutes after my post above....

Looks like users must also install Service Pack 1 updates to the Visual C++ 2010 redist package.

Install both x32 and x64 Service packs and you should be good to go.........!

The Service Pack 1 updates may be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/…s.aspx?id=26999
