Can the AE 6 control led as needing some lighting for a build and looking for simple way

Yes it can, unless you don't need all 4 fan channels why don't you get either PA3 for few $ or even better, get BItspower Xstation for like $19 and it has fan/LED controller.

I already have one and was just wondering what would work with it
Can anyone recommend some rgb leds that I could use - magnetic preferably

In the AQ ecosystem, controlling and monitoring LEDs is done with the Farbwerk.
