Custom Plugin Creation - Will the SDK Be Updated?

Back in 2017, there was a post about the plugin SDK, but I haven't found any mention of it since then. The github page was last updated in November 2017. I tried to make a dummy plugin, but got no response from Aquasuite version X.23, so I imagine things have moved on since then.

Is there a possibility of a new release? I need to make a plugin. Aquasuite doesn't work in Linux, and I'm fine with that. But the Windows VM running Aquasuite does not have access to CPU temperature. A plugin would allow me access. Something super-simple - read the temperature from a text file.
