Changing from EK to Aquacomputer

Hi guys, not sure if this is the most suitable place to post. I currently have a computer with a dual loop setup, one for CPU and one for my two 1080Tis. With 3090 coming out, I'm very tempted to change over to 3090 and re-do at least one of the loop (the GPU one). I'm considering jumping ship over to Aquacomputer and am very tempted to incorporate cool stuff such as the high flow NEXT. any suggestions from past and current users on what should I change?

2 x Radiators, can't remember which brand it is
8x Corsair fans
2 x EK 1080Ti GPU Waterblock, which I am definitely looking to replace into a 3090 Waterblock
1 x EK msi x299 CPU Waterblock
8 x Corsair RGB Strip
2 x lighting node core

2 x barrow pump
2 x EK-Res X3 250 Reservoir

I am very tempted to add sensors and controls (and of course a GPU Waterblock) from Aquacomputer to both of my loop. Loving the high flow NEXT and would definitely want to add it in.

  • The radiators should probably be left as is
  • Fans, assuming:
    • non-RGB fans as you did not mention the model
    • 3 fans per radiator and 2 case
    • controlled by motherboard
    if you are happy with the fans, you could leave them alone.
    If you wanted RGB fans you could change to the Corsair LL series.
    There are several options for control:
    • Keep fans and continue control with motherboard
    • Keep fans, but control with an OCTO to use system parameters for control (e.g. curve controller tied to coolant/ambient ΔT).
    • Change fans to LL series, and control fans & RGB with aquacomputer gear.
  • GPU and waterblock to be replaced.
  • CPU water block could remain the same or upgraded depending on desire & budget.
  • I am not sure if the Corsair RGB strips are compatible with the RGBpx system - hopefully someone with knowledge will comment.
    An option to control the fans & fan's/strip's RGBs:
    • an OCTO
    • a Farbwerk 360
    • 3 Splitty4s
    • 2 three way PWM fan splitter
    • the High Flow NEXT you mentioned
    • coolant & ambient temperature sensors

      Fan RPM control
      • OCTO port 1 > Splitty4 #1 > 3 way PWM splitter > 3 fans radiator 1
      • OCTO port 2 > Splitty4 #2 > 3 way PWM splitter > 3 fans radiator 2
      • OCTO port 3 > Splitty4 #3 > case fan front & rear
      RGB control
      • OCTO RGBpx port 1 > Splitty4 #1 > fans 1-4 RGB connectors
      • OCTO RGBpx port 2 > Splitty4 #2 > fans 5-6 RGB connectors
      • Farbwerk 360 RGBpx port 1 > splitty 4 #3 > fans 7-8 & Corsair RGB strips daisy chained (if total RGBs <90)

  • ditch the lighting nodes core
With the upcoming FUSION upgrade to aquasuite, this will all be easily controlled.
Best to wait for more feedback on this thread as I may be in error on parts.

To convert the Corsair connector to a standard 3pin ARGB, you will the cables from this guy

That is what the Splitty4s do, you connect the Corsair RGB connector to the Splitty4 and the Splitty4 connects to the RGB controllers via RGBpx.

There is no reason to go to the large, "standard" aRGB connector.

but still for the Led Strip, he will need a 3pin converter The LED strip connectors are not the same as the fan

Sorry forgot to mention my fans are already Corsair HD120 Fans, I have 4 fans per radiators and no case fans

Given: the GPU and it's waterblock will get replaced, and you will add a flow sensor.
That is all you need to do if you are happy with the current state of your fan & RGB control.

If you want to control the fans and their RGB LEDs with the aquasuite, you could do the following (similar to above).
Fan control: OCTO to two Splitty4s and 4 fans/1 rad to each of the two Splitty4s
RGB control: same OCTO RGBpx to the same two Splitty4s and 4 fan RGBs to each of the two Splitty4s

If you want to also control the existing 8 RGB strips with the aquasuite, you would need a farbwerk 360 and conversion gear to RGBpx connectors.
