Feature Request: Allow high flow NEXT "power" sensor to use alternate sensor source for temp like a temp sensor

Thursday, January 27th 2022, 6:34am

Allow high flow NEXT "power" sensor to use alternate sensor source for temp like a temp sensor connected to a OCTO. I already have a sensor on the OCTO attached to outside the case to get ambient temperature of the room the computer is in.

This is not possible, this is only working with the external connected sennsor.

If you are using a room ambient temperature sensor as the input to the High Flow NEXT's external sensor, your results will be astronomically wrong.
The external input should be a coolant sensor at the OUT port of the radiator, and the High Flow NEXT should be just head of the IN for the radiator.
This will give an estimate of the power dissipated by the radiator.

Thanks. :) Figured that out after posting this. Miss interpreted "external sensor" as external to the case or room ambient.

I'll get a proper sensor ordered from aquacomputer.

What about when you have an OCTO and a high flow NEXT together and already have a water temp sensor connected to the OCTO? Can't move the sensor to the high flow NEXT since the plug sizes are different.

Correct, currently THESE are your only options for the High Flow NEXT's 'external' temperature sensor port.

I have almost same issue, I have both HIGH FLOW NEXT and OCTO , on the display of HFN external temperature reading shows blank as I have connected temperature sensor to OCTO and other end of the temperature sensor runs to outside of the case to read exhaust temperature of the case , how do I add reading of the OCTO sensor to the charts page of the HFN sensor, ?
What is my options on what to do how to do it , I want to read exhaust temperature of the PC as well as the control FANS and PUMPS using that sensor ?

The flow sensor is not able to process external data for the display pages. You can have one additional temperature by connecting an external temperature sensor to the flow sensor.

Your link is not working, for me anyway. I don't think the Link is bad. The search phrase does not return anything in the Aquacomputer online shop. I think Temp Sensor $53211 has the right connector to plug into a Vision product. Additional models are listed in the Vision Manual - 53218, 53219, 53220, 53211, 53227.

Yes, that post is four years old and there has been an update to the shop since then...

Apologies. I did not notice how old that post was.
