Ampinel and 53216 cable

Wednesday, August 12th 2026, 1:05pm

Hi, so with the current price of gpus I don't want to take any chances and I ordered the 53216 cable in order to trigger a total shutdown in case of a problem. I been trying to read how the cable works but didnt fully understand. I know there is the jst type connector that goes in the ampinel but then there are 2 separate ends to the cable which I dont quite understand because from what I read both those ends are supposed to be plugged somewhere?

I had the wireview prior and because my case uses a single connector for the whole front panel, I bought a front panel splitter where I was able to plug in the shutdown cable in one of the 2 splits.

Can I get an explanation how the wiring actually works for this cable?

Thanks

it's just a splitter that allows to plug two switches to the motherboard power switch header. it allows the ampinel to force the computer off as if you were pressing the power switch on the case for 4 seconds. it's a Y cable if you want

It's all optional..

in real.. you don't need it.

Ampinel works in Alarm Stages, each stage will do a action.
also GPU sense cable "cut / off" and at the end a shut down.
