Hab das Problem bei Warcraft 3 auch.
Bei mir bin ich allerdings der Meinung, dass es an Kompatibilitätsproblemen zwischen Soft- und Hardware liegt, bzw. dass die Hardware zu schwach auf der Brust is:

PIII 850 MHz (FSB 100)
512 MB RAM
Matrox G450
