USB - LCD's ??

Hi,

bin neu Hier und hab gleich mal ein Anliegen:
Bin auf der Suche nach nem LCD das man am USB-Port anschließen kann, es geht mir darum, dass USB halt zeitgemäßer ist und ich den Seriellen/Parallelen Port nicht mehr benutzen will - heißt nicht, dass ich USB freak bin !!!
Ausserdem könnte man so das Display ja dirket auf'm Mainbaord anschließen !

Du bist aber ein komischer kautz? du willst also kein Seriell nur weil es nicht inn ist??? ;D

Es gibt überhaupt kein USB LCD und erst rech keins das man ans Mainboard anschliesen kann z.b an den IDE Port....

Lol, wieso sollte man die nicht ans Mainboard anschließen können .. oder wo hast du deinen 3./4. USB-Port ?? Bei mir sind da Pins auf dem Mainboard für ...

Btw. ich hab irgendwo schonmal was von USB-LCDs gehört, nur weiss ich leider nicht mehr wo ..

Sicher geht es! Und zwar kannst du jedes serielle Display auch über den USB Port ansteuern! Ich hab eines von Crystalfontz - dort findest du auch die Beschreibung!

Bin heute leider zu faul um das zu übersetzen - also hier im O-Ton:

Hook the display to the USB (really).

Aten makes a nice cable that will add a COM port to your computer through the USB:

You would then hook it to the spare USB connectors that are usually routed to the back panel. In the spirit of case-modding, you might be able to remove the USB end of the cable and connect that directly to the spare USB header on your motherboard. You would want to make sure that the USB cable connector does not have any electronics in it, the serial end certainly does have electronics in it, so don't hack that end.

Das dürfte wohl deine Frage beantworten, oder!?

klar geht das, mein mobo (cusl2) hat sogar einen extra LCD port für sowas, sprich es gibt sowas ;D

Naja, also isses erstmal klar, nur jetzt ist folgendes das Prob:
- Wo gibt es solche Displays bzw. KANN man nen einfachen USB -> COM-Adapter nehemn (auch mit der SOftware) bzw. wie baut man die Seriellen Ausgänge um ??

Wenn dann würde ich einen parallelen nehmen, weil du dann auch ein günstigeres, paralleles LCD nehmen kannst.
Und einfach son ding umbauen is nich, in den adaptern is elektronik drin.
