Can Aquaero 5 XT control a Alphacool vpp655 pump?

Wednesday, November 30th 2011, 2:02am

  1. It uses a 4 pin molex, but if I converted that to a standard 3 pin fan header, can I plug it into the aquaero to control?
  2. Will the aquaero provide enough power to be able to run? Or will I have to buy a power adjust or other type of board?
  3. And what are the PWM 1/2 ports used for?

Quoted

Standard voltage: 12V DC
Power: 23W
Allowable Voltage: 8-24V DC
Current connection: 4 Pin Molex

Thanks :D

Yes, I've done that to all 4 of my 655 pumps which are all rebadged D5 pumps.

PWM 1/2 are for controlling things like led lights and other low current devices it not a PWM controller like channel 4 is, its just a PWM power source which is a digital power source instead of analogue to make it more efficient. Max load of 1A@12V each.

thanks for the info. It is really helpful.

Do you plug the pump directly to the aquaero? or do you use one of the auxiliary boards?

I have 2 on the A5 and 2 on 2 PA2s. (1 per PA2)
