Hello everybody. Noob here! And very thankful I am to have found the English forum.

I have a question please about my Cuplex Kryos HF. The mounting brackets (wings ?) attached to the block have some room to move/wiggle. Even though the bottom of the waterblock is firmly attached. It feels like they need a washer/spacer to be held tight.


I found a review where the chap finds the same as me and gives these brackets a wiggle

this is normal and no issue with the production. The brackets only lie between the top and the base and are hold in position by the screws from the base. Other than the parts of the block, the used material for the brackets has some small fabrication tolerances which in the end decides if it will sit firm or might have some play. Some play is OK while only a tad to thick could already bring up the problem that the base and top will be "pushed" away from each other - in an extreme case it would cause the block to leak.

Anyway, it is nothing to worry about and do not use any washer because then you might experience the problem that I wrote before. When you mount the block it will not move anymore and it also has no impact at all on the cooling performance.
