aquareo 5 no longer shows rpm for fan header 2

I finally got round to reinstalling my a5 pro after it had been in storage for a year. Got it running and updated to the latest firmware. But now fan 2 does not read rpm anymore. Any ideas?

Have you tried moving fan 2 to one of the other fan ports/headers?

Update the to the newwet firmware.
Do a factory reset of all settings.

Connect a single wan without any other cables to the fan port to check the function.

I have reset the a5 with the 4 jumpers on pins 5-8 and reinstalled the firmware but the problem remains. i have tried different fans. it is fan controller 3 not 2 if that makes any difference. i can control the fan with voltage but no rpm signal.
