Aquaero 6 PRO PWM connectors

Monday, January 25th 2016, 4:22pm

Hi All,

I have an Aquaero 6 PRO which works nicely (even with D5, after the IT Diva mod applied).

I have two questions:

- there are two "PWM 1/2", two pin connectors (one GND, one VCC) on the device. The manual states that it is 12V and pulse modulated. While the standard says the control signal should not be more than 5.25V! So what is this good for?! (standard paper , Aquaero6PRO paper )

- I have successfully connected a koolance flowsensor to the Flow connector, but the strange thing is that even with correct frequency settings (197 in the sw) it stops showing flow if it is low. I cannot give you a meassurement, but I do see that there is flow, but it shows 0.

I hope someone can answer.

Thanks!

Shoggy

These 2-pin PWM ports have nothing to do with the PWM control signal for fans.

PWM stands for pulse width modulation and is a modulation technique that can be used in different ways. In case of the aquaero it is used for the fan ports as a controlling signal to adjust the speed and for the 2-pin PWM ports it acts as direct power supply which is also the common usage of this technique. These 2-pin PWM ports are perfect to adjust the brightness of single-color 12V LED strips for example.

I can not help you with the flow sensor problem. The only thing that I can say here is that you are not the only one having problems with it. Maybe have a look here. Pretty old topic but the problems has not changed over time.
