updated aquasuite after a year, new level of bullshitery

so I just have a simple fan controller which I have been using for many years, I use aquasuite to manage fan speeds and have a simple thermocouple sensor used as a crude ambient temp measurement device and now after upgrading I need to buy a licence key?

What the hell is going on?
fwiw I have a Aqua Computer Aquaero 5 LT USB Fan-Controller

You should be able to select the free, older, no longer updated version of aquasuite from the drop down box in the installation window.
Since you are not needing the newer capabilities, the older version should work fine for you.
