High flow next sensor alarm setup (to turn off pc when flow drops to a certain value)

Saturday, February 12th 2022, 4:14am

Hello,

I have a high flow next sensor with a signal cable plugged in from the sensor into the mainboard. I want to create an alarm when the flow drops to a certain value (for example, when the pump fails and the flow is L/h), the pc shuts down. I have tried setting it up myself and when the flow goes to 0L/h, the alarm goes off, but the pc does not shut down. I have attached some images of the settings I have in AquaSuite.

Thanks

I don't have a High Flow Next but I do have an Octo with #53216 Alarm Cable which stacks onto the case power switch header. Before I connected it, I forced an Alarm condition and put an Ohm meter across the contacts. I could see the 2 control contacts short together for one second. This is an easy way to make sure that the alarm, and the alarm cable works. From your screen shots it looks like the alarm did activate. If it's not causing the PC to shutdown, disconnect it from the mobo header and put an Ohm meter across the control pins on the cable. If you are seeing the pins short together for a second, the cable should work when plugged back into the header.
