acquacomputer products, should i buy? i need some help

Saturday, March 12th 2022, 6:49pm

hello and thanks to anyone who wants to help me.

I am about to assemble the new rig and I would like to use the acquacomputer products to manage pumps, fans and rgb of my system.
I've looked at several tutorials on the internet and got an idea but I'm still not sure if I'm doing the right things.

I have to manage:
-12 pwm drgb fans (9 leds each)
-4x 3pin ddc pumps
-wb cpu and gpu rgb, 2 reservoir rgb, asus z690 apex motherboard rgb

My purchase thought is:
-1 octo to which I am going to connect the fans in pwm, there are 12 but I combine them in groups of 3 so I will use only 4 pwm channels of the octo and I have 4 free for the pumps if one day I decide to switch to pumps pwm (I guess my current 3 pin dc's can't be controlled by the octo and I have to keep using my old pump controllers that work on voltage?)

The fans have a daisy chain on the 5v drgb outputs so each group of 3 fans will come out with only one drgb cable, so having 12 fans I arrive at the octo with 4 drgb 5v cables.

The total LEDs to drive are 180 so I will have to buy two cables to use both rgb channels of the octo.

If i need to use other rgb fans or led strips in the future i will need other pwm and rgb inputs, will i have to buy a farbwerk 360 and a splitty9 and put them in chain with the octo via aquabus connection?

To monitor water temperature and flow speed I thought of buying the next flow meter and connecting it to the octo.

Up to here is it okay or am I doing something wrong?

thank you :)

Why do you need three DDCs?

asus z690 apex motherboard rgb
The Aquasute software can only control RGB connected to Aquacomputer Products. It cannot control the Motherboard RGB.

(I guess my current 3 pin dc's can't be controlled by the octo and I have to keep using my old pump controllers that work on voltage?)
Correct.

and put them in chain with the octo via aquabus connection?
Aquabus connection requires an Aquaero as Master device. Connecting the Farbwerk360 and the Octo will not work. You have to connect the Farbwerk360 with USB to the Motherboard.

next flow meter and connecting it to the octo
It is recomended to connect the High Flow Next with USB to your Motherboard to get the full access to all functions.

you don't need aquabus. (it requires having an Aquaero controller i believe)
you'll just have the Farbwerk360 for RGB and the fans connected to the octo.

I also wonder why you'd ever need 4 DDC pumps even for a dual loop system ^^' a single DDC is already overkill for a 12900k and the highest power GPU you could couple with it in a single loop.

thank you all.
if i buy acquaero instead of octo can i connect and manage my 3 pin ddc pumps?
