Leakshield Not Vacuuming to Set Point?

Wednesday, October 19th 2022, 1:45am

Hello, I recently redid some of my custom loop to remove some unnecessary fittings and installed an Octo and a Farbwerk 360so I could handle all my fan control and RGB needs in AquaSuite instead of the awful L-Connect software. I had already been running the Leakshield and D5 NEXT for about a month prior this and absolutely fell in love with the AquaSuite and just how well everything worked, which is what sold me on the Octo and Farbwerk 360.

However, after refilling my loop I messed up and the coolant (EK-CryoFuel) made contact with the membrane of the Leakshield and I think this is the cause of my current issues.

I pulled the Leakshield out and let it air dry and then reinstalled and had the repeating issue of the Leakshield thinking there was a leak when it was trying depressurize the system. Even when it did successfully depressurize, it was 15 or so mbar below the set point and would easily trip if I tried playing a game because of the increased water volume from heat.

I found a thread on this forum where someone was having similar issues, and it was recommended to lightly clean the membrane with isopropyl alcohol, which I also did. After reassembly the problem is less severe, and now the Leakshield is able to depressurize within about 10 mbar of the set point. It's now at the point where most of the time, gaming will not trip the alarm, but sometimes it still does.

I ran the Leakshield for about a month before this without any problems, and because of that I'm not exactly sure how it was acting before to compare to now. It just worked so I didn't watch it closely or make too many mental notes about pressure levels and such. So maybe it wasn't reaching the depressurizing set point before and I just never noticed? I'd like a sanity check to make sure this is working as intended, and if so, can I change the calculation it uses for the leak detection threshold to lower it a few mbar so I don't get nuisance trips?

Here are some pictures from AquaSuite to show what I'm running into better, and my settings.

the many small temperature dips you see in the graph are from my air conditioner turning on and blowing directly on my externally mounted radiator. The large temp spikes are playing games, and the large pressure plummets are me re-depressurizing the system to try and keep it from tripping when playing games.

I absolutely love the AquaSuite and all of these products. So I am hoping whatever I've done to cause this can be fixed pretty easily. Thank you for any assistance!

I have the same exact pressure dips and I have been using the recommanded Aquacomputer ultra DP clear.
