Sunday, November 14th 2004, 6:40pm

Hello,

AquaComputer Team, have you a project in progress for Pentium M.
A TwinPlex PRO for example with a specific fastener (6800 fastener modified).

For Use with the Aopen 855M Board u can use a standard AC cpu cooler. Retention Modul is just same as on other socket 478 boards :)

mounting a twinplex is maybe possible but there is very little ,not to say no space at all ::)

size for twinplex is 40 * 40 mm :-/

by now the only way is to use heat-compound-glue (i don't know the right word).

as i see on the picture the mountig-hole distance is 58mm.
this is similar to the twinplex for ati.

maybe you can use this?

58mm?

if i don't have tomatoes on my eyes it's 41mm, since the twinplex is 40x40mm it won't fit.

but maybe it works if you turn the twinplex a little bit, so that the edges are between the holes.

in the shop under "ersatzteile" -> "Ersatz- und Austauschblenden" you can download TIFF-files with the "blenden" (what's an adaquate english word for these?), so you can lay these on the picture above to try if they fit in some way.

41² + 41² = 3362
sqr(3362) = 57,98 ~ 58

i was talking about the diagonal distance.

and 58mm fits to the twinplex for ati

Start again ;)

Twinplex is ideal for this motherboard, just a small rotation of 3.6° and it is good.

The question is : for more performance and to replace the old TwinPlex, AquaComputer plans to market a TwinPlex PRO.
Of course TwinPlex is largely sufficient :

but why not a TwinPlex PRO.

the problem is:

a pro version needs to have the in-connector in the center. and this moves the out connector to much outside, so that a twinplex-pro has to be bigger than a normal twinplex.

For processor, TwinPlex with chipset fastener it's OK :D
But for i855 chipset, TwinPlex chipset CP4-Typ 1 or CP4-Typ 2 ?
I know, CP4-Typ 1 is for all Intel boards and CP4-Typ 2 for i850 boards but which is the physical difference ???

the position and distance of the "mounting-holes" is a little bit diffrerent.

Isn't it possible to fit a cuplex pro on a
chipset. And if not are the plans at AC to make a pro version?

the problem with the twinplex-pro is, that there is not enough place for mounting a connector in the center and the other at the side.

No CuPlex on chipset.
It's possible to create TwinPlex PRO but AC has surely another project in progress :'(

Also perhaps that TwinPlex PRO would not bring anything more than a standart TwinPlex compared to the overcost.
