moin erstmal
hätte da folgende frage,habe zurzeit eine ac wakü mit evo 240 radiator im gehäusedeckel eingebaut (aktiv gekühlt).zur zeit sind die cpu(p4 3,2@3,6) und die nb angeschlossen,kommt jetzt aber noch ne x800xt pe dazu.meine frage jetzt wollte noch nen passivkühler der marke innovaKonvekt-O-Matic MAXI dranklemmen.würde das was bringen,und reicht dann die eheim 1046 pumpe noch aus.

Der 240er schafft das auch alleine. Ich will niemanden vom Kauf von irgendwas abhalten. Deine Temps werden zwar ansteigen, aber nicht ersthaft hoch gehen.

Und jetzt zur eigentlichen Antwort: Ja, es bringt was. Aber ich bin mir sicher, Du wärst auch alleine auf die Antwort gekommen.

Arbeiten am Mac ist natürlich keine Arbeit, sondern sinnvoll gestaltetes Glück.

Auf irgent ner seite gibst dazu diagramme wie die Kühlleistung mit der Kühlfläche ansteigt, zwichen airplex 240 u 360 gibts vielleicht nochn unterschied von 1c° ,ich selbst habe auch nen evo 120 aber der reichte nich hab ich nochn 240 zugehangen ,das brachte was logisch von 120 auf 120+240.

Ich würde dir raten lass es so wies is und kauf lieber mit dem geld was anderes ...

Hi Chawo:

Everything depends on what you´re expecting from your pc temperatures.
If your choice is getting higher OC´s, so the conection of another radiator in a paralel circuit would made you have a little gain over the OC you already have now.
Some people who want to made a "high end" Watercooling or simply go "oversized" would made this choice also.
Don´t expect an incredible improvement over the temps you reach right now and the only way to have a measureable improvement in temps is conecting the radiators in paralel, because the conection in a serial way wouldn´t push the maximum disipation power out of the second radiator conected.

As said, all depends on what you are expecting to do with the Watercooled system and if the improvement you´re planning to do is the correct way to obtain the results planned.

If you want to know how a second radiator improve your rig simply take the W disipated by it and look how much W your processor is disipating, so you can make yourself an idea of how your final temps could be.

Zunächst mal ist die Nennung von Produkten anderer Hersteller hier nicht gerne gesehen. Einen passiv kühlenden Radi zusätzlich zu einem aktiven einzubauen kannst Du Dir wohl sparen. Sicher wird die Wassertemperatur etwas geringer werden, aber das lohnt den Aufwand und das Geld vermutlich nicht wirklich.

Du kannst Deinen Betrag übrigens auch editieren und einfach einen namenlosen passiv Radi darus machen

also ich mir auf ebay letzes jahr noch zusätzlich günstig einen 120er evo ersteigert.
ich betreibe ihn auch aktiv zusätzlich zum 240er.
aber an tempveränderung hat er fast nichst gebracht, ca1 grad, nur hat halt länger gedauert, bis das die temp den endwert erreicht hat!

Have you the radiators in parallel or in serial connection?

Parallel would be a better choice.

ja sorry war halt hin und her gerissen was ich nehmen sollte den passiv oder den evo 360.aber was komisch ist,ich habe gestern die lüfter auf dem radi umgedreht und sie saugen nicht mehr sonder blasen jetzt.und siehe da zwei bis drei c° unterschied zu vorher.hatte schon öfter die lüfter umgebaut,aber noch nie so gravierende unterschiede.

Hi

Das Blasen der Lüfter mag dir kurzzeittig Erfolg geben, auf lange Sicht pustest du die WARME Luft INS Gehäuse, wo sie eigendlich heraus sollte.

Also: Lüfter immer nach aussen saugend montieren.

Dont' use a parallel circuit. It may be possible that all the water is flowing through only one Radiator.

Parallel is better, because the radiators disipate better the heat when the water reaches them relatively hot.
If you connect them in the serial way the second line radiator doesn´t disipate all the W power it has.
Check it out and post results...

Had told you before (in another thread I think) that the "sucking" method in Evo´s are better than blowing the air directly over them. The reason in part is explained by Dino: Better take hot air out of the case than introducing it, but I think there is a more important improvement in this method and it is that if you put the fans on the radiator blowing air over the fins there are turbulences over the fins that would prevent the air flowing through them correctly. Turbulences aren´t bad if they are produced in the inside of the fin zone, but these turbulences I´m talking about are becoming on the upper side of the fins stopping/preventing correct air flow.

no. the water will take the radiator with the smallest flow-resistance. and you are not really able to control which radiator gets how much of the warm water. if you have luck, both will get 50%. but what happens if one gets 80% and the other only 20%? would you still say its a better cooling? or is it still the money worth you gave for it?
and how much better will the results be? maybe you will get and 2-4K (kelvin) better final temp. is it still the money worth? your hardware dosn't interesst if it has e.g. 46°C or 52°C.

But, how can this be?

If you connect a 2 port manifold or an Y splitter the flow is always splitted in two parts. The outlet tubes of the manifold or Y splitter must be the same Inner diameter, of course.

We don´t need pressure in the radiator, we need the pressure on the inlet of the waterblock. I´ve seen that the latest CPU blocks from Aquacomputer are using a jet style design, this need truly high pressure for better performance.

The flow in the radiator tubes is better to be low speed and we need to mantain the pressure in the rig, so I think that a parallel circuit for the radiators would be better.

As said many times, don´t expect an improvement of 10ºC, that´s right, but it could be that this little improvement in temps could help this OC/temp gain we haven´t achieved yet.

I´ve browsed the inet searching for a forum were someone has checked the preformance of a system with this two mounting styles, but haven´t found anything, if someone knows a page post it here please, thanks

the flow-speed has nearly no effect on the temps. the only influence will be, if the flow ist too low or too high.

take a look at this site. there are a lot of diagrams, which show you, that flowspeed isn't relevant.
and it will show you also, that there is no difference whether you use two radiators parallel or serial.

the best way is, the use of one radiator. another one might be used for design reasons. but for cooling another one is not necessary.

nabend
schon klar wegen der physik,aber wenn ich doch dadurch bessere temps bekomme.habe eben 1 stunde need for speed ug2
gezockt und habe fast 6,5°c weniger an cpu temp(61 auf 54,5°c)temp.also lass ich es doch lieber so.

spätestens wenn deine spannungswandler anfangen ihren geist aufzugeben, wirst du einsehen, dass es besser ist die warme luft abzusaugen, als hinein zu blasen.
