Best way to empty a system

Tuesday, August 9th 2005, 1:28am

Hello everyone,

Firstly I can read German but not write it very well (so feel free to reply in German).

I have ordered most of the stuff I need but I still have a question. I have found loads of tips on how a system is filled but none explaining how to drain or refill a system. Is there any little tricks that make this easier later. Does AC or anyone else have fittings, accessories etc that can help?

Thanks...

in my opinion the easiest way of draining a system is this:

take a "T-Connector"

and put it to the lowest point in your circuit (if you have an Aquatube -or sth similar- mountet in the front of your computer, put the "T-connector" near the back of the computer).
then a little bit of hose and then you take a cap

and put it on the hose.

to drain your circut take off the cap and put the hose into a bottle or something. Then open up the circut at the highest point (e.g. your reservoir) and watch the water run out of your Sys.

if you really want to go for it, you can buy this one:

all these parts can be found in the Shop at "Zubehör" => "Zubehör zum plug&cool-System"

I ordered a bunch of those valves and some T fittings so I can use one Fillport to fill and bleed my three loops. ;D I also intend to use some to be able to drain my system as well. 8)

If you do what hobbes suggests, does the essentially stagnant water in the branch of the t-connector cause problems as far as algae is concerned?

cheers

no. ;)
not if your're using acfluid or antifreeze.

here's a pic of my T-connector, it's been running this way for more than a year.

If you use black tubing there are no worries with algae. No light...no algae. ;D
