S.M.A.R.T. funktioniert nicht

Hallo,
habe zur Zeit Probleme mit meiner Festplatte und wollte deswegen mal die S.M.A.R.T. informationen abrufen. Dabei stelle ich fest das diese Funktion deaktiviert ist. Bei google habe ich nichts gefunden, nur das S.M.A.R.T. im bios aktiviert werden muss UND per software. Ich hab aber weder ne software gefunden, noch den "schalter" im bios. Kann mir jemand vielleicht weiterhelfen?
