Ubuntu: nach update helligkeitsprobleme

ahoi
bin etwas verwirrt... hab ein dell xps 1330m mit ursprünglich gutsy, jetzt hardy drauf...

das problem: mit gutsy hab nich per FN+Pfeil-nach-oben die helligkeit in kleinen schritten hochdrehen können (kam auch eine anzeige vom GUI aus, sehr nett)

jetzt kann ichs nur noch in 3 schritten (finster, erträglich, zu hell)... die feinabstufung ist total weg...

kennt jemand das problem? wenn ja, wie kann ich das wieder in den ursprünglichen (funktionierenden) zustand versetzen?

konkret zu der sache mit den hotkeys kann ich dir zwar net helfen, aber wenn sich sonst keine lösung findet, bzw als übergangslösung: smartdimmer
mit smartdimmer -s xx kannste zwischen 0 und ich glaube 21 die helligkeit einstellen

Man könnte sogar annehmen, dass smartdimmer eingesetzt wird, um die Displayhelligkeit zu steuern und jetzt entweder nur noch eingeschränkt angesprochen wird oder gegen ein anderes Programm ausgetauscht wurde (unwahrscheinlich).

so und wie hilft mir das jetzt mit meinem problem?

gibts irgendwo eine config, wo drin steht, was beim drücken welcher Fn-kombinationen passiert?
