new: aquagratiX 1950 with core pro

Saturday, November 11th 2006, 1:05am

With immediate effect, Aqua Computer is selling a new revision of the aquagratiX 1950. Apart from an optional cooling for the Crossfire-Chip, it is also using a new core. The new and patented core pro system is based on the already known system but with a strongly increased efficiency - without increasing the flow resistance.

Besides a nearly doubled surface area, the cooling surface was increased by the factor 3. The spring travel was shortened down to 0.5mm which ensures that the core can't tilt but will have enough margin to fit on all cards. The assembly becomes safer.

The core pro will also be used for the aquagraFX blocks of the nVidia 8800 series. The new core is laid out for upcoming chips with bigger dimensions.

A copper version will follow within a short time.
Other exisiting blocks won't be revised.

A few pictures of the new core pro and aquagratiX 1950:

Just compare: red is the old one, silver is the new core.

Here the Crossfire-Chip connection takes place.
