Alternative 939 mounting

Sunday, June 10th 2007, 4:08pm

I've seen in your shop that there is an alternative way to mount a Cuplex to a 939 board.

I'd prefer to use an alternative than the 2 bolt/nut/spring way that my Cuplex is mounted at the moment.

I'm about to place an order for a XT DI (hopefully I won't have to wait too long, I see you guys are sold out).

It'll be going on an A8N32.

Any information on this way of mounting would be very helpful.

Could you provide a link to that alternative because I have no idea what you are talking about.

(Thanks Shoggy. But should you be working on a sunday? Take a day off!)

"NEU:
Die Backplate-Adapterbolzen ermöglichen eine Verwendung der A64-typischen Backplate zur besseren Lastverteilung am Mainboard. Alternativ kann der Kühler auch ohne Backplate montiert werden."

From the description of the Cuplex XT for 939/AM2/940 etc

Part number 21519

Shoggy is not working for Aqua-computer ;)

The description is not of a new mounting but of a new way to use the older one.
There for you can use the Backplate.

These adapter bolts are only screwed into the backplate:

Ah. Interesting. I'll see if I get that with the XT DI I've ordered. I don't know if I would be able to use it, I have removed the IHS from my chip, which may make that part useless. I'll see what happens.

Thanks again Shoggy.
