Aquasuite 2012 BETA 1 Bugs

Saturday, May 21st 2011, 12:54am

Hey guys,

Beta 1 of the Aquasuite 2012 software is available from here: http://aquacomputer.de/software.html

Thought best if we can collate any known bugs.

Advisable to:

- Disable A/V before installing it
- Allow the application installer to download and install .NET 4.0 (I already had it installed but it still managed to install something additional)
- Right click and select Run as Administrator when running the actual program.

Bugs:

- Had to right click and run as administrator a couple of times at least (even after the firmware update)
- When i renamed Fan 2 to Radiator Fans - Only Radia shows up on the display.
- Software let me set the % to run the fans at, they are active at that percentage- but the AE5 menu system shows it is 100%

Must say nice effort for a BETA release though! PS - I'm using an XT Pro on a CHIV with Win7 x64 SP1. Only additional thing I would like is the ability to start the application automatically when windows boots along with synchronise the time (so we don't have to keep doing it manually!)

Thanks Aqua-computer - looking forward to a fully fixed version with data logs - I like the screenshot function too

Strange behavior after firmware upgrade

Saturday, May 21st 2011, 3:31pm

Updated Aquaero 5 XT to firmware 1011 and after the device reset it continued to reset every 20 seconds or so. Now it continually resets less than every one second and screen is blank. This probably should be in its own thread.

I couldn't even get mine to start. I've got Windows 7 32-bit and newest .NET 4 installed. After starting Aquasuite 2012 it appears on the process list and uses few percents of CPU for two seconds but nothing else is done. Is there any log written anywhere that could be sent to developers to help them track the issue ?

Try running Aquasuite 2012 as Administrator. See if it will run more then a couple seconds for you.

Just right click on the program icon and choose run as Administrator.

Already tried that before posting, still no go. Actually it does not disappear from the process list after few seconds, but rather stops using CPU and still does not show any interface window.

Aquasuite 2012 beta 1

Saturday, May 21st 2011, 9:00pm

1/ try to run AS2012 as administrator
2/ if it doesn't work, reinstall (repair) .NET 4.0 framework after downloading it from MS site
3/ restart Win7 and then still run AS2012 as admnistrator.
That's what I did. And it worked.

I can't get it to install
Runs through the pre-requisite install (dot.net 4 etc.) but when the actual AS
2012 install starts, I just get a blank, white window and the install does
nowt.

Andy idea's?
win 7 64
tried reinstall .net
4
ran in XP mode
Ran as admin (all users)

Still no joy

Aquaero is XT (also it has not come with the heatsink)

A small aesthetic bug

Fans with RPM of 4 characters and more doesn't have a space after the word "Rotation Speed" e.g. attached.

I have experienced application crashes, I'll try to replicate them and provide feedback accordingly.

Found a few bugs:
Unable to calibrate the flow meter, looks OK i AS2012, but new value not transferred to Aquaero.
Problems with measuring power, sometimes it works, sometimes not.
I also wonder how to add items at the overview page ... are looking foreward to the complete manual.
Also, in 4.72 I get the option to upgrade the fiirmware on my poweradjusts (to be comptible with Aquaero5), but this fails. Any hints of why? I have three PA2, wheroff two of them has firmware 1001. They are all connected to mobo through usb, and Aquaero5 with aquabus.
Looking forward to beta2 and beond, looks good, but needs some work. I cant wait to get my multiswitch and poweradjusts hooked up!

To upgrade the PA2 you have to do them with only 1 connected at a time and through the USB port only. You cannot leave the aquabus connected during an upgrade.
Add items to overview by going into the setting page for overview and enabling the edit checkbox.

Thanks Phatboy, this did the trick. All PA2s are now updated. But with beta2, no overview page so far, only crashes ... :cursing:

The new Beta 3 with several bug fixes should be available in 10 - 14 days.

I found a bug with aquasuite displaying fan channels properly when using A5 Ch1 as a flow meter.
Aquasuite drops Fan Ch4 from the Fans view instead of Fan Ch1.

OK, thanks for the hint.

It is very likely that we will have the Beta 3 available tomorrow. Since I guess that should be easy to fix maybe this problem will be gone too :)
