What to do with this bracket

Hi,

I just got my res pump combo and was inspecting the parts delivered, there is something like this.




What is the flat plate with the X for the front page of the manual shows a setup with the angled bracket but the other does not seem to be described anywhere?

Look in the store and see pictures at the bottom.
