new octo DOA ?

new octo DOA ?

Hi.

I received an octo from a uk retailer, sealed, have connected it up just the molex and USB and ...nothing. No status light at all. I've checked the USB orientation, checked the molex, switched to a second molex, used a molex to molex extension with a 12v fan adapter to ensure theres 12v there. No life at all. Any suggestions or is this a return ?

The Octo needs 12VDC and 5VDC to function. Did you check the 5VDC?

5.10. Status LED
The red status LED is continuously on for approximately ten seconds during startup
and then turned off during normal operation. The status LED is blinking during er-
ror conditions, for example after fan output deactivation due to overload or faulty
supply voltage. In case of errors, RGBpx LEDs connected to the device will be
blinking in red, disregarding the current LED controller setup.

Bingo. Only other thing on molex was pump which was only using 12V. I connected the octo to my leak test psu with just a fan and status light came on at power up. Swapped that peripheral connector onto my main system and its booted. Other connector goes in recycling box. Now just have to swap everything else over to octo and test. Thank you very much.
