Okay lets put this more simply
I want to know if the G 1/8 threads on an Aquatube are machined into the aluminum body or into a bushing that is then pressed or screwed into the Aquatube?
If you look at the Aquatubes that are on the webshop they appear to have a flanged bushing that sits a bit raised up from the aluminum side of the tube. It also appears that the G 1/8 fittings go into this raised surface. Am I correct?

Nope, the thread is machined directly into the aluminium body itsself. Oh, and on a sidenote, what's the point of using 10mm ID tubing when the diameter of the threaded fittings themselves is only 9mm? That's gonna be ~7mm max once you actually put a fitting in...
The 'bushings' you refer to are probably the G1/8 blind plugs which are fitted into any fittings not used.

I was talking of using 10mm OD x 8mm ID tubes when I said that I knew where to get 10mm x G 1/8 fittings. People here in the USA like to mod just about anything ;D So we are always on the lookout for easy ways to try something different. There are people who want to be able to hook up an Aquatube to their large bore wc setup just because it looks
However, now that question has been answered do you think A-C would be willing to make Aquatubes with G 1/4 threads instead of the standard G 1/8? Any idea of what quantities would be needed to do a production run?

you're not the first to ask and probably won't be the last...
ac never has used anything different that g1/8 (ok, besides that radiators...
) and i very much doubt they will change that in the future
but if your're able to find a few (or a few more :-X) people that are willing to pay enough... who knows? ;D
