Aquaero 5 XT capacitive keys - False signals

vendredi 23 janvier 2015, 15:00

So..... I have an Aquaero 5 XT with the capacitive touch buttons on the front panel. And those are driving me crazy with their false signals!

When I boot the computer, the false signals start clicking away and don't stop until the buttons are non-responsive.
At that point I can still use the infrared remote control and Aquasuite to control the Aquaero, but the touch buttons remain unusable.

From what I can understand after reading a lot about problems with these capacitive buttons is that the issue mostly occurs due to bad grounding. So, I've run a direct line from a VERY well grounded connection on my PSU enclosure (removed ALL paint and it IS now touching bare metal!) to the installation brackets on the Aquaero - but this doesn't really eliminate the issue.

Removing the Aquaero from the case helps somewhat - but it's not ideal, as I'm sure you can imagine...

I don't want to fiddle with making my own cardboard-based mounting bracket like a user did in this thread (Aquaero 5 XT Capacitive Touch Screen Problem - Possible Fix with Cardboard Mount) and I CERTAINLY don't want to change the PSU, now that I've spent dozens of hours shortening/modifying/sleeving the cables to suit my needs! Oh, at this point I migth add that the "case" I'm using is a selv-built testbench, made from 3 mm aluminium, and spray-painted at a proffessional autopaint shop (I have a worklog for it - see here. On in post #120 on page 6 you can see how I mounted and somewhat "shielded" the Aquaero - and check out post #122 to see how I grounded the Aquaero to the PSU).

So, I have 3 questions:

1. Was this ever solved with a GOOD and SOLID solution that I'm just not aware of?
2. If 1 results in a "No" is there then ANY way to "downgrade" an XT to a PRO version?
3. Does Aquaero 6 XT have the same issue?

Perhaps contacting the support team in the upper right on this page will be most fruitful.
