Virtual Sensor Temp Spike Upon PC WakeUp

mardi 21 décembre 2021, 20:31

Hello, I have a quadro controlling my radiator and case fans as well pump speed. I'm using 2 coolant temp sensors averaged as a virtual sensor to create fan and pump curves based on average coolant temp. Everything works great, except for when the computer wakes from sleep, or cold boots from a fully Off state.

When waking from sleep, if I leave an aquasuite window open, I catch that the virtual sensor shows a momentary and erroneous spike to 100C that corresponds, and is likely the cause, of the few seconds of max fan and pump that occur. Again, the virtual sensor is the average of 2 coolant temp sensors.

All other times this arrangement works just fine. Also, startup boost is disabled on the fans and pump. And speed to run when no signal is present is 55%. The fans and pump are very obviously working as the curve would have them based on the short, and erroneous, spike to 100C of the virtual sensor.

Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like you have the 'Fallback value' for your temperature source in the virtual sensor set to the default 100.
  • right click on the temperature source in the virtual sensor
  • select 'Settings'
  • half way down the option panel, set the 'Fallback value' to a lower value
