Aquaero 6 LT Power Consumption EXCLUDING fan outputs?

vendredi 3 janvier 2025, 03:57

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have a good figure for how much power the Aquaero 6 LT can use as a worst case when NOT drawing voltage from the fan outputs?

I know how much my fans can draw as max, and I want to add that to what the Aquaero itself draws to get an idea of total power consumption.

The manual only includes the following:

Power supply voltage: 12 V DC ±5 %, 5 V DC ±5 %
Power supply current: 10 A / 12 V, 0.5 A / 5 V (aquaero 6)

But that appears to be at full fan channel load.

I suppose I could kind of make an educated guess based on the fact that the specs for the unit are up to 2.5A for each of the four fan channels, which means 10A at 12V, but that would consume the entirety of the 12V power supply allotment leaving only 0.5A at 5V for the whole rest of the unit. Is this accurate?

If anyone has any confirmed information on worst case power load of the unit itself, excluding fan channels, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Matt

without anything other is connected to the device aprox. 250mA @5V and 500mA @ 12V.
Wenn you connect a fan, you have to calculate with the peak current values.

Thank you Sebastian!

That is exactly what I am doing. Need the worst case load.

Though, I am actually not pulling any power load over the Aquaero at all. It is being connected to an external powered splitter, the only fan wires connected to the Aquaero will be RPM and PWM.

Thanks again,
Matt
