It's an OLED display and OLED displays suffer from burn-in. I don't know if Aquacomputer sells replacement OLED displays, or what is involved in replacing one.
I have a High Flow Next and a D5 Next. I keep the displays on them either off or on low brightness because of concern about burn in. I hope that someday Aquacomputer will release updated products with small, higher resolution color displays. They are not expensive. Here are some
EXAMPLES of small color TFT LCD displays. TFT LCD displays the size of the monochrome OLED displays in Aquacomputer products cost less around $4, and less than that in bulk. Corsair uses IPS TFT LCD displays in their AIO CPU cooler blocks, and if they can figure it out, surely Aquacomputer can! My dream is a new Aquaero controller that consists of a high resolution full color IPS TFT LCD display tethered to a small box that contains a powerful microcontroller and all of the various I/O connectors. Maybe someday. In the mean time, I do my best to avoid OLED burn-in by keeping my Aquacomputer displays at low brightness, and off when idle.
