Flow meter mods

Greetings most exalted ones...

I have been reading the Digmesa manual on the flowmeter that A-C sells. What happens to the flow calibration if I open up the IN port to the same size as the OUT port? I assume this would make the unit less restrictive, but is it a noticeable gain in cooling ability?

Also does anyone know if you can hook more than one unit up as I am planning two complete separate loops. Is this something that the Multi-Switch can be used with?

A few people here did it including myself ;D
It gives a bit better flow. You should change in and out and set the calibration value to 256 imp./min to get a proper result.

You can connect two flowmeters to the Aquaero

Great! Where do I hook it up to? Perhaps the Aquabus header?

Did you open up both ports or just the IN port? If both what size did you bore to?

I opened the in port (~6mm). You connect the second flowmeter to fan connetor 4 and do a little change in your Aquaero configuration

If you change the input to ~6mm use the output as the input, cause the output is exactly 5,6mm (256 Pulse/L).
I did this with my flowmeter, but I woukldn't do it again, it did not change anything.

Talking about Flow-Meter-Mods: Another thing I made is putting an LED with resitor between Power and Signal of the Sensor: Now the LED blinks on every Pulse

What CPU block are you running?

If it's the EVO I think the internal ports are smaller than those on the flowmeter, so your greatest restriction is still there.

Any thoughts/info on that anyone? ???

Cool! You don't suppose that the "New Aquaero" will have more than 4 fan ports do you?

I would think that it does give out a pulsed voltage, although that may well be below 12V, maybe even 5V. You could attach it to 12V and earth, and then measure the third wire with a multimeter, whilst blowing thru a tube connected to the input (or 'output' if you decide to change them around for the mod).

The Signal is a short connection to Ground on every Pulse, so get the Power (I think the green Cable ob the Ae-Connection) and the Signal and connect a LED with resistor betwen them - the LED works on every Pulse. It will probably work as well on the Sensor-Port as on the FAN4-Port of the Ae

Has anyone ever opened up the ports on an Evo 1.1 slightly?
I'm sure larger ports must have been trialled during development, and was wondering what the effect was?
