LINUX PRO GESUCHT

Problem:

Habe ein Raid5 system mit einem Raidcore BC4852 Controller

das raid 5 wurde per controllerbios eingerichtet und es wird 1x 3000GB angezeigt

wenn man nun linux installen möchte (redhat, gentoo, suse) werden komischerweise immer mehrere platten angezeigt


warum ???

und wie sieht es aus mit linux und ntfs geht dass

also bzgl. raid 5: keine ahnung ;-)

aber ntfs: lesbar auf jeden fall, schreibbar unter umständen (kernel version) aber als root dateisystem nicht zu gebrauchen.

mehrere Partitionen?

SD0a wäre eine Partition, keine ganze Platte:
0 ist die Platten-Nr.
a die Partitionsnr.
und SD stünde für den Bus (SCSI - da SATA als solches erkannt und angesprochen wird) :).

Hab mit Raid noch nie was gemacht (nur mit software-lvm-raid G'schmarrn)..

*g* die Nummerierung ist normalerweise (z.B.) sda0....sda4....sdb0....sdb1....sdh0.....sdh1...

ntfs: besser nur read-only...
