There's usually a handy search field on the top of each page, which adapts its functions dynamically to the page you are currently browsing. When you're on the index page it will search the whole site, but when you enter more specific areas, ist searches only that very area. E.g. if you are browsing a thread, it searches only that thread. The search field also holds a dropdownn menu with some frequently used search options (like threads of the last 24 hours), as well as a link to the extended search interface, which offers many more search options.
The system will automatically recognise all searchable parts of your site. These are by default: posts, threads and private messages. If you have modules installed, such as a calendar, the search system will also search calendar events.
These are the provided search options:

You can also use brackets to make sub-searches. The example will list results including "Text" and "Text2" or "Text" and "Text3". The terms called first will have a greater importance. |

The tilde allows you to negate the priority. Results including "Text" and "Text2" will not have a lower priority if "Text2" is not included. |

The Asterisk is a wildcard, which means e.g. "Textbla" will also be found. This operator may only be used at the end of a word. |

The double quotemark allows you to highlight certain word groups. The search-results will then only include results where the whole word-group appears. "Text, Text2" for example will not be found, because there is a comma in between, which was not entered as phrase. |

- Enter a time period the results should be found in.
- Enter how the results should be sorted.
- Enter the search type that should be used, further options will appear:
- Board:
You will be given the option to select certain boards that should be searched in or, if you want to, only find certain threads. You can also select if the results should be displayed as posts or threads.
- Private Messages:
You can select which folders should be searched.
