It means download and install .Net 4 from here[url]http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=0a391abd-25c1-4fc0-919f-b21f31ab88b7[/url] .

Phatboy's solution worked for me!!!
Did you install those two updates for .NET 4 ? Were they detected via standard built-in Windows Update or did you get them via MS Windows Update webiste ? What nuber exactly did they have because the second one is actually for .NET 3 and can't be installed since it's alread contained in standard Windows 7 install ?

I didn't check the numbers but 2 updates for .NET 4 were listed in the built-in windows update immediately after installation. I've checked my update history and they are as follows:Did you install those two updates for .NET 4 ? What nuber exactly did they have because the second one is actually for .NET 3 and can't be installed since it's alread contained in standard Windows 7 install ?
- Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2416472)
- Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2446708-) - the dash wasn't there - I've put it in as the 8 and the ) kept turning into a smiley.
On a side note - I used Revo uninstaller pro when uninstalling both .NET4 versions before reinstalling and I also used Argente (spelling?) registry cleaner (had to run it 3 times before I had a clean scan).
Hope this helps - I know how frustrating it was before I was able to fix this.

Don't ask... 
That was way too crazy. I took the system with me into the office today and the big surprise: the aquasuite was working 
The only idea we had it could be something with other USB devices because that was the only thing that has been changed. Back at home I was able to confirm that. My monitor has a USB interface for remote control. When it is connected I can not start the aquasuite; when unplugged everything is fine. Well, so tomorrow I also have to carry the monitor with me. Likely that this problem could also happen with other USB devices. We already have an idea so the solution is near
Of course I can't tell if that will also solve the problems on other PCs.
Together with a customer we were also able to fix another problem which prevents the aquasuite to run. Besides that a few other things have been fixed.
So far it looks good that we will have a Beta 3 available tomorrow.

Yeah I mentioned the USB device conflict somewhere before, I think over at xtremesystems.org, mabye even earlier in this thread I cant remember.
I plugged my Iphone in the other day and Aquasuite crashed. It crashed a subsequent 2-3 times and then 3rd time started ok.
A USB conflict sounds like the most likely scenario. I dont know a lot about USB but I believe different devices have polling intervals and maybe a high frequency polling interval from another device disrupts USB polling in Aquasuite causing a crash.
