Help! molex power connection stuck on Quadro and now on my Octo!!

Monday, June 1st 2020, 3:25pm

I have a Quadro, ran a molex extension from Phobya and when I tried to remove I can not remove the molex connector.

Anyone else experience this?

I replaced the Quadro with an Octo, connected the molex using the molex power connector from a Corsair AX860 and the same thing has happened.

I have a number of other molex connections which all can disconnect. I have two Aqua Computer items which cannot disconnect, and it's not due to a specific cable.
what to do?

I don't know how much experience you have with them, but Molex connectors are notorious for their difficulty to disconnect. You have to get a certain lateral rocking motion going on them, but not too much, and an extreme amount of pulling force (more than you'd think for their size) at the same time until they work their way free. The key is getting a decent grip on both the connector and circuit board so it doesn't flex too much and break.
