I also have an aquaero 6
And it was able to drive 3 pins fans.
Why can’t he drive those now ???
Yes it’s an odd size fan of about 20cm
Sold with thermal take vt20 cases.
So it’s not uncommon at all - except the fan.
So I will not replace the fan.
I bought the octo for that.
I don’t have enough pins on my aquaero.
So I now will return it as it’s useless.
I remember that voltage driving used to work,
So I’m really upset with you.

Are you suggesting Noctua make bottom of the barrel fans ?from the Octo shop page :
"All fan outputs are compatible to PWM fans with four pin connectors only and feature overload protection."
Well the Aquaero does voltage and PWM, so maybe just move PWM fans to the Octo to free a spot on the Aquaero? To be honest, 3 pin fans are very rare. it's only the bottom of the barrel cheapo fans or some default case fans that have that. PWM is a lot easier, more efficient, stable when using splitters... there's too many reasons to drop support for voltage control really. If the Octo did that it would probably be quite longer, need heatsinks, be more expensive (basically an Aquaero) and only a very small number of users would need support for 3 pin

I don't disagree that PWM fans are easier & more efficient to control I was simply taking (very) mild umbrage with the statement that " it's only the bottom of the barrel cheapo fans " that still have 3 pin ;o)No but they keep making them for people who still use 3 pins.
But these are rare since you have to actually buy them specifically.
The 3 pin fans people have are usually those i described, default case fans.
Hell i still have old NFP12 in 3 pins, but i bought them for an i7 2600k when it came out.. that's what i mean
If people have the choice, they will get PWM, they are way easier and more precise to drive, more so today when cases use so many fans and splitters become common use.
None of those are helping for rgbpx header TO standard led strip.

They are all for the reverse: plug a rgbpx led strip TO a standard header.
