D5 next and 2x Octo will it work

Saturday, December 7th 2024, 10:26pm

I just want to check this as i already use 1 quadro. i have a new build planned that is partially complete, it has a d5 next ultitube and 2x octo controllers, these are all linked to the Aqua computer Hubby 7, i will be running 1 pump and 22 fans. the idea is to use 2 separate octos. 1 for radiator fans and 1 for case fans.

Will this work as i just seen a post that a d5 next and octo don't work together How to fix this aquabus error

idea is that i will use octo 1 and 2 to seek the water temperature from the D5 to control the fans.

d5 next controlling only the pump, and rgbpx strips
octo 1 controlling 16 radiator fans (2 fans per channel and yes they are within the total 100w)
octo 2 controlling 6 case fans
water temp i will retrieve from the D5 sensor and use that for the octo controlling.

will there be any limitations to what i can do as I'm really not understanding how this whole bus system works and what i can and can not do successfully. If i need to make any adaptations or changes i really need to get parts etc ordered now before i finalise putting this together. i already have the hubby 7, 2x octo and the d5 next ultitube already attached in the case and have had custom power cables made so i'm really hoping all this works :whistling:

many thanks in advance.

I take it from your question that you are worried about the Aquabus, which is unnecessary as you cannot use it in your constellation.
The Aquabus can only be used to expand an Aquaero, e.g. to control the 8 fan ports of an Octo directly from the Aquaero. Your configuration runs completely via USB, so the problem you linked does not exist.
You can easily use the water temperature of the pump to control your fans.
