:(

I guess I'll save that for a weekend then. I might play around with it beforehand when I have a few minutes and see if I can possibly save it, but I doubt it if you're saying so. Thanks for looking!

Is there any way to help avoid that, for future people looking to upgrade? Perhaps stopping the application and service before the upgrade? I've been upgrading in place for a couple of years now at least (whenever I started watercooling) and this is the first broken install I've had.

EDIT: So I had a few minutes now actually lol. I took a deeper look in the folder and noticed that Aquasuite made a backup of the database file during the upgrade, "aquasuite_db.database.backup". I restored that file by renaming it back to "aquasuite_db.database" and it looks like Aquasuite loads successfully with my pages and settings! I think my next step now will be to try to export everything I can, then completely nuke the current install and restart it fresh, then try importing pages and settings into the new install so that it's using a current db file.

EDIT2: After playing with it for a while last night, it looked like none of my pages or virtual sensors wanted to export correctly after reverting to the backup DB. Luckily I had a recent system restore point from a couple of days ago from a Windows update, so I was able to use that to completely switch back to X.79. I also noticed that Aquasuite crashed whenever I tried to remove any data sources from the Data Log functionality, leading back to the DB being corrupt, so I think this is less a X.80 issue and more something that was just brewing over time.

In order to completely resolve this, while keeping all of my customizations, I did the following:
  1. Use Windows System Restore to revert back to the previous version (hopefully you have one available!)
  2. Export all pages, virtual sensors, inputs/outputs, etc. that you'd like to keep.
  3. Back up your data folder at C:\ProgramData\aquasuite-data. In my case I just copied the folder and named it aquasite-data-bak. Hopefully you don't need it, but at this point I wanted to be as safe as possible.
  4. Completely uninstall Aquasite.
  5. Install latest version via https://aquacomputer.de/software.html?fi…suite_setup.exe and choose to do a new install.
  6. After install/reboot, import your saved customizations.

This is mainly for anyone coming from Google in the future that might have a similar issue. It's a pretty straightforward recovery, but in my case it depended on that system restore point. If I didn't have that, I'd have to start completely from scratch since there isn't a way to downgrade.

Looks like I need to buy a new license key for both of my computers running Aquasuite. One of them only has an Octo installed. My main machine has a bunch of Aquacomputer products with update service expiration dates ranging from August 2021 to July 2024. After inputting the new license key, Aquasuite asks which device I would like to assign the new key to. Does it matter:? Is there any advantage to assigning the new key to the device with the oldest expiration date, or the newest expiration date? I don't think it matters, assuming I have no plans to remove any of the Aquacomputer devices, but figured there is no harm in asking.

I believe any one of their products will do, the aquasuite test for an active license anywhere.
I generally try to pick the device that would be most useful for a new build if my system cratered... i.e. octo over quadro, or if I have something on an external radiator.

Ditto, I normally assign mine to the Aquaero 6 XT but as Infoseeker says it doesn't really matter. @Shoggy I'm pretty sure that if said part did fail then Aquacomputer would honour the license?

Normally the support team always finds a solution that everyone is happy with.

Thanks to all. I bought 1 new license last night for the computer that just has an Octo. I updated that one to X.80 with no trouble and no virus warnings. I will update the main computer today.

However, on the MQTT (RabbitMQ) side, I noticed a lot of "Unparseable MQTT packet" from Aquasuite:

For anyone else finding this post in the future: X80 upgraded the MQTT protocol to MQTT v5, so if you're running an older version of MQTT server, you may need to upgrade. For RabbitMQ, this requires RabbitMQ 3.13 or higher (needs to run rabbitmqctl enable_feature_flag all after upgrade). For Mosquitto, this requires Mosquitto 1.6 or higher. In general, server releases after 2019 should work, although additional configuration may be required (though RabbitMQ only added this in 2023).

Once I upgraded my RabbitMQ instance to enable MQTT v5, I can see Aquasuite message in MQTT as expected.

There is a new .net runtime version 9.0 available. Is that compatible with aquasuite?

Testet it atm, but AS is requesting v8. So it have to be kept for the moment (hopefully only for the moment because AS is for my system the only app which is crying for v8 )

The aquasuite X.81 is now available.

In hardware monitoring, some data has changed in the CPU. Data sources in the virtual sensors and software sensors may have to be reassigned if this no longer fits.
If your virus scanner (Norton360, AVAST, Bitdefender, GData, Windows Defender ...) fails, then this is a “false positive”. You can then report it to the anti-virus manufacturer. It usually takes a few days for the definitions to be updated.

X81 shows my CPU temp at 75c idle, which is over half the actual temp! You can see the jump in the attached pic.

CPU is Intel 12900k. Data is taken from Aquaero 6 XT temps. If I change data direct to the mobo then it reads correctly, although I have to choose average temp etc. Temp from Aquaero looks more like Distance to T J Max.

you have to select the the sensor in you software sensor setup (aquaer -> sensors -> software sensors). Select the correct (updated) source.
