Export all data for new Windows install

Tuesday, March 11th 2025, 1:21pm

Hello, I wanted to open this thread a couple of months ago when I reinstalled Windows, so excuse me if I am a little vague on details because some time has passed.
I just had this tab open in background for all this time and I just realised it was better to close this topic.

I have Aquaero 6 PRO, of course I have set up the pump and fans curves, the control page, sensors (water/air temp), a few virtual software sensors, and profiles.

I especially use a virtual software sensor to calculate the profile selection, it's s relative complex graph that checks GPU or CPU usage % or temperature to switch to an high performance profile, I immediately switch to the profile when the average usage is high for a few seconds, and it keeps it until temperature of any component is high enough, to prevent hysteresis on loading screens and such and of course cooling the component quickly after use.

I have read that I had to backup the folder C:\ProgramData\aquasuite-data, and so I did. I already had exported the profiles in the ,pro format from the "aquaero>system" page.

When I reinstalled Aquasuite, I copied back the folder but it didn't recovered some settings:
  • I think even the profiles (which I could easily restore from the dedicated backup)
  • I expected I could have to manually restore some sensors, like GPU and CPU, because they also depend on drivers or HWInfo.
  • Most importantly the software virtual sensor, which are rather complex and required a lot of work to setup, completely absent.
I tried to manually change the xml files, to reconnect to the settings, but I didn't manage to restore them.

Did I do something wrong? Is there a way that I can't find?
I expected some kind of "export" button for the virtual software sensors, especially because they can get pretty complex and require some tweaking to get them right.
I can't find such button, like there is for the profiles, and clearly the folder backup didn't work.

I may not be understanding exactly what you are trying to do because I don't have an Aquaero. That said, if you are trying to export a Virtual Software Sensor in the Playground section of Aquasuite, you can right click on the Virtual Sensor name at the the top and select Export Sensor.

Oh... it's not evident you can do that. Thank you!

I think the interface should get an improvement on this.

You can also left click on the 3 dots in the lower right corner of the Virtual Sensor name.

I stand by my previous statement. :D
They look like ellipsis, not an interactive element. It should be on the top right corner, and vertical, or an hamburger menu on the top left.

Especially when you have a big cog on the right of that section.

Edit: or even an inverted caret... anything but ellipsis, which are usually placed for text, not for UI.

I am not disagreeing with you. I was just explaining how to do what you were trying to do. There are a number of things that I wish Aquacomputer would improve or enhance in the Aquasuite software. I have also seen suggestions made by other forum members that have not been implemented. That said, in my opinion, Aquasuite it still by far the best software out there for cooling loop component monitoring and control. The Playground is a unique and powerful feature. I am not aware of any other program that has something like it.

Well, hard to not be the best when it's practically the only one. And it's necessary to manage their own hardware, even if there were an alternative, I need that to drive the Aquaero.

Thank you anyway.
