Der Installer startet nicht. Was kann ich tun?

Schonmal Kompatibilitätsmodus ausprobiert? Ich weiß nicht mehr ob es 3 oder 4 war, aber bei einem von denen hat es damit funktioniert.

Edit: Google mit "Monkey Island 4 Windows XP" spuckt auch einiges aus.

Wenn Du auf irgendeiner Kiste Linux installiert hast, mit Wine und Cedega läuft MI4 einwandfrei...

Dann kann ich ja unter VMWare auch Windoof 98 installieren.

Könnte es mal einer bei sich installen und mir die Registry-Files schicken? Die CABs bekomm ich zur Not noch alleine entpackt.

ich habs mir mal angeschaut, die problematik kommt ja anscheinend öfters vor. manche können es spielen unter xp, andere nicht. was ich gefunden habe, war ein hinweis auf die graka-treiber, die wohl bei der initialisierung (da das game wohl nur unter bestimmten auflösungen läuft) den installer bereits scheitern lassen.

Hmmm.... hat das Game keiner von euch? Wenn ich die Registry-Files hätte, könnte ich das Spiel manuell installieren. Dann bräucht ich nur noch ein Programm, mit dem ich die CAB-Files extrahieren könnte - WinRAR will nicht.

Das ist für DOS-Spiele zwar eine tolle Sache, hilft bei Monkey Island 4 aber wohl nicht weiter .

Ich hatte Linux oben. Es kommt auch bald wieder hoch. Nur nach dem Prozessor- und Boardwechsel hab ich mein System neu aufgesetzt

Irgendwie ist das seltsam, die Setups bei Wizardry 8 und Tony Tough springen auch nicht an. Das muss an der Setupart liegen.

Immer wenn diese 3 Dateien das Setup darstellen, läuft das Setup nicht an. Aus dem Taskmanager erkenne ich auch, dass es sich wohl um ein 16-Bit-Setup handelt, da "wowexec" gestartet wird.

Liegt das am SP2 von WinXP ?

wowexec heißt nicht unbedingt dass es eine 16bit Anwendung ist...ist zum Beispiel bei der Install von CnC Generals datselbe.

Verkaufe meine Komplette Wakue sowie 256 GB SSD, Casing, Anschluesse, AHrdware.

Du benutzt nicht zufällig Windows x64? Da gehen meines Wissens nach 16bit Programme nämlich gar nicht...
