What are the differences between the cuplex kryos NEXT VARIO with VISION 1200/1156/1155/1151/1150, PVD / .925 silver €314.90 and, cuplex kryos NEXT with VISION 1200/1156/1155/1151/1150, PVD / .925 silver €284.90?

Before I make my selection, I would like to know the advantage of the €315 water block. And, how much of an advantage can I expect from a silver cpu water block vs the nickel?

Well, like the name suggest: One has the Vario tech, the other one does not. What is Vario?

So basically you can adjust the shape of the cooler to better fit the shape of the CPU IHS.

As for nickel vs silver - just go with the nickel one. It will give you 99% of the performance of the silver one.

IMHO: Just buy a nickel version without the vario and if you after the very best cooling performance, delid your cpu, apply liquid metal and smoothen the surface of both the IHS and the cooler by lapping it (-> basically just very fine sandpaper). This will grant you the very best performance, at a low price.

Thank you! I am not familiar with the “Vario“ design, in any event, I’ll try and get some of the literature translated and read up on it.

As for delidding I have the i9 11900K, which are difficult CPUs to delid. I might try it further down the road.
