I’m a water cooling newbie. I’ve built 3 air cooled computers but I’ve always been intimidated with water cooling. I finally got up the courage to jump in the water and started ordering stuff yesterday. My desire is to build a quiet but capable computer with high quality components that can be overclocked (never overclocked either) if I get up the courage to try overclocking. So far I have ordered:
• Case Labs TH10 with pedestal
• Two Black Ice SR-1 560 radiators
• 10 Noiseblocker Black Silent Pro PK-2 140mm fans
• Corsair AX1200 (More power than I need but hope if running at 300 to 400 watts it will be quite and if running at 650 to 750 watts it will be relatively quiet.)
I want to go with an Aquacomputer Aquero 5XT, some Poweradjust 2’s, and two loops, one for two EVGA 580 Hydrocopper 2 3072 MB video cards and the other for cooling CPU, RAM, and a full motherboard water block.
Now, what pumps for a quiet but capable computer? I’m thinking of two options now but am totally open to other suggestions.
Option 1:
• Four Koolance PMP-450 pumps (D5 Vario W/Tach Lead)
• Two Koolance RP-452X2 dual 5.25" bay reservoirs
• I would use two pumps in series per reservoir for more power but with speed turned down low for quietness.
• Option 1 should have plenty of pumping power but will it be too noisy?
Option 2:
• Two Aquacomputer Aquastream XT Ultra pumps
• Two EK or I&H reservoirs
• Option 2 should be very quiet but will I have enough pumping power?
What pumps do you guys suggest for quiet but capable computer?
