Pump DP-600P and aquaero LT

Sonntag, 21. Oktober 2012, 21:49

I would like to connect my pump DP-600P to my aquaero LT, this is manual where you can find all info about. http://www.jingway.com.tw/en/images/DC%2…all_manual_.pdf
Could you tell me is it possible, and if yes how to do so?
Thanks in advance!

Looking at that spec sheet, your pump draws 1 amp (12 Watts). Each channel on the aquaero can provide up to 1.65 amps, so you should be fine to just plug it right in, although at a 1 amp load you'll want some cooling on the fan amps on the aquaero otherwise you'll either cook them, or the aquaero will protect itself by running the pump at full speed if you're undervolting it.

You then just set up a controller in the software (curve, set point etc.) and assign the pump as an output for that controller.

For the cooling of the aquaero fan amps, Aquacomputer do a waterblock for it (http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info…roducts_id=2671), but in my experience a heatsink and fan is plenty (they also sell a heatsink at http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info…roducts_id=2692, then you can just screw a little fan to it). Honestly, if a waterblock is easy to do for you, it's probably best just to do that and have it really well cooled, but I just made up my own heatsink by cutting up one I had here so I didn't have to buy anything.

I just bought heatsink, waterblock is impossible for me to mount atm.
But comming back to configuration, should I first configure pump somewhat in software then connect it, or connect and then configure it?

If you just connect it up to a fan channel that has nothing configured on it at all, then it will run at full speed. You'll see a "fan channel 1" or whatever item in aquasuite, that you can rename to "pump" or whatever, then you can assign it as an output on any kind of controller like a curve or set point.

Just to make sure nothing is set up that means it doesn't start, I'd listen to the pump the first time you start up after connecting to make sure it does come on, but as far as I can remember channels that have had no configuration done yet default to being on at 100%
