Touch screen Aquaero 5 xt

Donnerstag, 30. Mai 2013, 20:18

Hello to all,

I have aquaero 5 XT, but I always had problems with sensitivity touch screen buttons.
Especially the enter button, even if set to 1 sensitivity is too sensitive and sometimes turns on without touching it.
In a review of Italian I saw a new front panel with aluminum plates that avoid the problems of sensitivity buttons.
http://www.coolingtechnique.com/recensio….html?showall=1

I ask if you know something, I have not found the new panel in the Aquacomputer.de site. I would like to buy it.

Thanks
Fabrizio

That looks like the one I have, but I could be wrong. And I still get false clicks and sensitivity problems. If there's a new faceplate that solves the problem with touchpad on the aquaero registering false clicks that would be awesome. Anybody have any more info on this??????

I was having the same problem with my AQ5 I contacted support and they sent me the face plate that Fabrizio is talking about. at no charge. This was about 7 months ago when they were having allot of problems with Hyper sensitivity of the programmable buttons I think the latest models have been changed to solve this problem so I don't know if they will still offer the face plate. But when I replaced my PSU with a thermaltake 1200w toughpower the problem stopped, and I didn't need to use the new face. don't know if you would want to change your PSU but it worked for mine good luck.

Thank you for the information,

My PSU is a new Enermax Platimax 80Plus Platinum - 1000 Watts, and should be fine. I therefore ask if ordering a new face plate as indicated by Jakusonfire, I get the new version with the aluminum plates, because in the picture of 'address

the face plate is smooth without plates, and equal to what I already have.

Your front panel you showed has the round IR hole, the new front panel PCB has the slot. If you already have the slot design you have the new panel.

Old design front panel with round IR hole

New design with IR slot

That article you linked to is pretty old now, I guess they might have put the aluminium plates on the old front panel as a temporary measure til they worked out a fix. The new panels do not have plates on the buttons.

Thanks again :) ,

I already have the new panel,
then the only solution I have left to solve the problem is disable device Keys :(

Did you contact support and tell them your problem, because I believe they never offered this front panel for sale The new face plate has a slotted hole for the IR,but what you need is the panel underneath with the stainless steel inserts in it. .

Was there a solution for this? I bought mine when they came out but just got around to finally installing it and I have the sensitivity problem.

I remember seeing a post by Shoggy saying they were working on a modification that users could easily do themselves but I never saw anything else about that (except that new faceplate which I am unsure this is what he was talking about).

Does the new revision aquaero still have this problem? (the one with the slotted IR sensor)

I solved with the new panel that mounts the chip 121. My panel was an older version with chip 084.
The chip of which I speak is what you see in the picture.

I contacted aquacomputer about this and they're sending me the new front panel assembly free of charge even though my unit is well out of warranty (I have one of the first batch).

So major props to them and the great service.
